Tour Description:  Backwaters are an amazing phenomenon of Kerala - a necklace of lagoons, lakes, canals and rivers that run through the length of this beautiful land. Infact much of Keralas uniqueness lays in its backwaters - found nowhere else in the world.
A visit to the backwater destinations of Kumarakom, Kollam and Kozhikode can be a most rewarding experience that one can get. The lagoons at these destinations with their spectacular view and fringed by coconut trees have been featured in travel books all over the world. No journey to the backwaters is complete without a stay on board in "Kettuvallam" or a houseboat which takes you on a journey through the length and breadth of the lagoons and waterways.

Itinerary Description:
Day: 01: Cochin - Munnar
On arrival at Cochin airport / Ernakulam Railway station, you will be greeted by our representative and will transfer you to Munnar (140 Kms / 04 Hrs). Throughout the journey enjoy beautiful streams small water falls, Rubber, Pepper cardamom and Tea plantations and thick forests, God has blessed his own country with incomparable beauty on arrival at Munnar check in to Hotel. PM: At leisure. Overnight stay in Hotel, Munnar.
Day: 02: Munnar
After breakfast we take you for a full day sightseeing trip of Munnar, which is a nature lovers paradise with endless teagardens lakes on western ghat hills, basically it is a tea town. Visit - Mattupetty Lake & Dam, Echo Point, Kundale Lake, Blossom Garden, Rajamalai - offering a spectacular view, Eravikulam Wildlife sanctuary, home of Nilgiry Thar( very rare mountain goat), considering the ecological faunal, floral, geo- morphological and zoological significant & Tea Plantation. Later return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day: 03: Munnar - Kumarakom
0900 Hrs after breakfast checks out from Hotel and we drive down to Kumarakom (175 Kms / 5 Hrs) the lush green vegetation and the climate attract a number of tourists to this place. On arrival at Kumarakom visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and later check in at hotel in, Evening go for Sunset cruise (optional) or enjoy the beauty of backwater with lovely views all around by just relaxing near Vembanadu Lake and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 04: Houseboat
Morning at leisure at resort, 1230 hrs checks in at houseboat. Rest of the day at leisure on the House Boat. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals of Kumarakom & Alleppey and seen in breathing green, the village slumbers by the Vembanadu Lake. On cruise scenery flashes up vivid contrasts of lush green and deep blues. As the boat glider along the gorgeous green of the fringed palms the ripples in the blue water blend in to little wavelets. Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, dinner and Overnight stay on House Boat.
Day: 05: Houseboat - Cochin: Departure
At leisure, later we will pick up from Houseboat at 0900 hrs. morning and transfer you to Cochin - airport / Railway station. End of Tour / services. |
